Lita Co-Op app for iPhone and iPad

OVERVIEW: Lita is the worlds first tech cooperative (co-op) focused on mental health. Were owned by our workers and members.

COMMUNITY: Our member-owners attend our virtual and in person community events and access education resources about mental health and co-ops.

TEAM: Our diverse team built our trustworthy app for students and families who are concerned about the negative impacts of social media on mental health (Instagram & TikTok in particular). We help our members reduce the stress of modern life, stay on the same page, and write amazing life stories in a way that improves mental health.

PURPOSE & BENEFITS: Lita is 100% private. There are no creepy AI algorithms, ads, bots, or bullies. Most importantly, there are no people pretending to be something they arent. Lita is intentionally designed NOT to be addictive (see "The Social Dilemma"). Our members safely and confidently share daily life updates with their family, closest loved ones, and friends while providing encouragement and support.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Our target audience is students and families. Parents of young children can create profiles for their dependents and their beloved "fur baby" pets!

APP FEATURES & FUNCTIONALITY: In our Relationships feature set, Lita Co-Op members share their Hopes & Concerns, Favorite Things of the Day, Memories (photos & videos), Gratitude, and reflections on their day by writing entries in Journal which is designed for social and emotional well-being. Similar to BeReal and Life360 without unauthorized data sharing and creepy surveillance, Check Ins gives our members the ability to share short update videos throughout the day along with how their feeling / emotion plus optionally share their location without being tracked full time.

SECURITY & PRIVACY: Aside from end-to-end encryption, Lita protects our members privacy by not sharing their data with third parties.

SOCIAL IMPACT: Membership fees to our co-op are waived until April 2022.
